Eva was the seventh of ten children born to Edward and Ida Sundermeyer Peterson. She and her family moved to Salem, Oregon about 1931. She married Gerald E. Valentine on August 28, 1935 in Vancouver, Washington. She, along with her husband, two sons and four daughters, moved to Sweet Home, where they acquired the family home in the early 1950's. She and her husband were baptized at Fir Lawn Luthern Church on January 31, 1959.
Eva enjoyed gardening, canning, fishing and hunting. She was a member of the Sweet Home Elkettes and ladies auxillary of the Sweet Home VFW. In later years Eva became a Stanley and Shakley Dealer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald, son Arnold, and daughters Joyce Bryant and Janice Tucker.
She was survived by a son Dennis and two daughters Lynda and Vickey, all of whom live in Oregon; 16 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren.
After Eva's death her son Dennis of Sweet Home died in 2007.
