George Berry was born May 05, 1900 in Buchannan, Michigan, the son of the Late Harry S Berry and Carrie Hamilton Berry. He was married to Ethel Crist Berry on August 02, 1929 Ridgeland, SC. He enlisted in the US Navy from Buchannan in 1918 and served until 1921 at which time he enlisted in the US Coast Guard and retired as a Warrent Officer in 1949 a veteran of both wars. George Berry was a charter member of the American Legion Post no. 51 here in Buchannan, Michigan who conducted Millitary rites at the Cemetary. A hard working American Citizen, George Berry lives on in all of us everytime we fight for what is right.
