Donald Page Anderson, age 84, of rural Mankato, died Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at Immanuel-St. Josephs Hospital, Mankato.

Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, February 8, 2009 at Mankato Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., Sunday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Mankato.

Donald was born June 21, 1924 to Edward Leroy and Janette (Page) Anderson in Vesta, Minnesota. He moved with his family to the Mankato area in the early 1930's and grew up in the Madison Lake – Elysian area. Donald served his country during World War II enlisting in the U.S. Navy in 1942 at age 17 and was discharged in 1945. He was united in marriage to Mildred Weber on September 16, 1947 in Madison Lake. Donald was employed by Skelly Oil Company for many years and retired from Mankato State University in 1986. He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Donald enjoyed camping, traveling, golfing, and spending time with his family.

Donald is survived by his wife, Millie; six daughters, Vicki (Rick) Hackbarth of Nicollet, Faye (John) Geurs, Judy (Jeff) Klingel, Jan (Denny) Burtzel all of North Mankato, Karen (Joe) Brooks and Kathy (Chris) Sieberg all of Mankato; five sons, Gary Anderson of Lake Mills, IA, Rick (Peggy) Anderson of Mankato, Bill Anderson and Bruce Anderson of North Mankato, Randy (Nancy) Anderson of Mankato; eighteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Greg and Ron; a sister; and a brother.
