Francis McCarter
Francis McCarter, 82, of Corsicana, loving mother and grandmother, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, Jan. 24, 2005.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home in Corsicana.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Griffin-Roughton Chapel with the Rev. Randall Evett and the Rev. Lonnie Keele officiating. Graveside services will follow at Hopewell Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jeffery Murray, Rusty Barlow, Doug Miller, James Basham, Sonny Morris and Ronnie McCarter.
Mrs. McCarter was born July 27, 1922, in Frost to Robert Bell and Lillie Mae Lemons Bell. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Roane Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Harvel "Knocker" McCarter; son-in-law, Cortiss Barlow; and grandson, David Barlow.
Survivors include her five children: son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Zane McCarter of Sunrise Beach, Mo.; daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Barlow and friend Charlie Martin of Ennis, Barbara and George Coppock of Corsicana, Donna and Pat Shelton of Lake Charles, La., and Judy and David Spinks of Marlin; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen McCarter and Gladys Ewing, both of Corsicana; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The loving care provided by her beautiful granddaughter, Theresa Edwards, and loving friend, Betty Boyte, will always be remembered by her family.
