Dora Frances Ward, 91, of Wirtz, Va., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 10, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Robert Landon Ward; grandsons, Mark D. Ward and Richard Lamar Spicer; sisters, Dorothy Ward, Mary Fravel, and Hilda Hines; and brother, Robert Funkhouser. Left here to pass on the memories are her children, Douglas Ward (Brenda), of Salem, Peggy Hegler, of Lancaster, S.C., Jenny Ashworth (Ronnie), of Collinsville, Larry "Charlie" Ward (Cindy), of Roanoke, Susie Hodges, of Wirtz, Linda Young (Frank), of Rocky Mount, and Cathy Russell, of Rocky Mount; sister, Margarite O'Donnell, of Winchester; brother, Houston Funkhouser, of Youngstown, Ohio; special friend, Geneva Dillon, of Wirtz; 15 grandchildren; 22 greatgrandchildren; two great-greatgrandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. on Friday, February 13, 2009, from Flora Funeral Chapel with Pastor Gary Hoffman officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Roanoke.
