Alan Alameda

Alan Anthony Alameda, longtime owner and director of the Alameda Family Saratoga-Cupertino Funeral Home in Saratoga, died at his home on Dec. 3, at the age of 97.

Born March 9, 1903, in San Rafael, Alameda was a member of S.C. County Cabrillo Club 21, San Jose Parlor 22, Native Sons of the Golden West, Columbus Garden Grove 74 U.A.O.D., Council 48B Luso American Foundation, Council 142 I.D.E.S., Council 32 U.P.E.C., Council 3 A.P.U.M.E.E., Council 2 Y.M.I., Council 879 Knights of Columbus--4th Degree Portola Assembly K. of C., Saratoga Lions Club and North Star Social Club.

Alameda was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine. Survivors include son A. Alan and Elisabeth Alameda; daughter and son-in-law Dolores Oliver-Jamhour and Caspi Jamhour; daughter Kathleen "Co-Co" Alameda Durham; grandchildren Alan A. Alameda II, Zoe Alameda, Michael Oliver, Denise Snyder, Judy Quigley, Karee DeVries, Stacie Marrijo, Chris Alameda and Kelly Alameda; great-grandchildren Christine, Jessica, Ryley, Todd, Tarren, Dakota, Michael and Keynan; sister Vera Medina; brother Joe Alameda; friend Connie Brazil; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial services have been held, with interment at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in San Jose. Donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1150 S. Bascom Ave., San Jose, 95128.
