Robert Lynn Penfold was born on February 2, 1934, in Fort Lupton, Colorado, his father, Jesse Merritt, was 31 and his mother, Pauline (Vollmer) Penfold, was 35. He attended Ione School in Fort Lupton and then attended Wiggins High School. Robert married Lenora J. Meisner, the daughter of Alexander and Evelyn (Warner) Meisner, on February 9, 1957. They had three children during their marriage all daughters. Robert joined the U.S Army in 1957 and served for two years before being released. He was a farmer in Wiggins, Colorado until his retirement due to his ill health, after which he moved to Broomfield, Colorado. Shortly thereafter He moved again to his ranch in Slater, Wyo., where he loved the peace and quite. He was a collector and considered a fine connoisseur of antique automobiles, also he was a pilot, loved everything about aviation and flying. Robert passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2005, at the VA Medical Center in Denver, Colorado, at the age of 71. He was laid to rest at Mizpah Cemetery in Platteville Colorado.
