City Lumber Dealer Dies After Heart Attack; Was Pioneer
Funeral services for A.L. West, 51/53 years old, city lumberman, who died from a heart attack Saturday night, will be held at 4 o'clock Monday afternoon in the Hahn funeral home.
West, who resided at 1218 W. 17th street, came to Oklahoma City seven years ago from Enid to take over the lumberyard at 815 W. Grand avenue formerly known as the Liberty Lumber company.
Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. E.S. Priest, pastor of the Pennsylvania Avenue Christian church. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery.
J.P. White, L.G. West, T.M. Richardson, Guy Brooks of Mangum, Gleen L. Dark, A.H. Webb, Ben B. Thornton and A.M. Beets will be bearers.
West is survived by his wife and son and a granddaughter, Sallie V. West. Before his death, he was an active Mason here and a member of the Blue Lodge of Enid. He was also a member of the Christian church.
