Mr. Garrison was judge of the Court of Common Pleas, and represented his county in the New York State Legislature in 1833; Supervisor of Philipstown in 1828, 1834, 1841 and 1851; coroner in 1829, and Justice of the Peace for many years . He conducted a ferry between Garrisons Landing and West Point which in 1854 was converted into a steam ferry, and became a stock enterprise
