WELCH, Schuyler C. was born July 30, 1823 in New York the son of Isaiah Welch and Sarah Schuyler. He married Eleanor Killmer April 12, 1849 in Joliet, Will County, Illinois and they were the parents of four children, Ellen Viroqua (Augustus Sharpe Alderman), Charles Schuyler, Eva Strove (Herbert Winfield Cox) and Clara Bell (James Shepherd). He was a farmer while residing in Illinois and became a bridge carpenter while he resided in Dennison, Texas. When he returned to Illinois he was employed as a lock tender in Joliet on the Illinois Canal. He was raised a Master Mason March 6, 1855. He died July 3, 1896 in Lockport, Will County, Illinois and was buried in the Hill Crest-Barbers Corners Cemetery, Bolingbrook, Will County, Illinois.
