Russell Millard Griggs

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend, Russell Millard Griggs, age 75, passed away October 18, 1998, in Holladay, Utah.

Russell was born August 21, 1923, in Payson Utah, the son of Henry Edwin Griggs and Ethel Collett. He married Lily Andersen on February 1, 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Served his country during World War II. He worked for many years as a sales repre-sentative for Chevron Oil and until his death protecting children as a school crossing guard. Russell was a kind and loving individual who was respected and admired by all who knew him. His passing saddens our hearts and leaves a great void in our lives.

Survivors include his wife Lily Andersen Griggs, of Salt Lake City; three sons , Lynn (Karen) Griggs, Rexburg, Idaho; Kevin (Beth Ann) Griggs, Murray, Utah; Brent (Mary Jo) Griggs, Chicago, Illinois, 18 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four brothers and one sister.

Preceded in death by his daughter Cathi Ann, grand-daughter Julie Ann and one brother Harley.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 21, 1998 , 11 a.m., at the Valley View 1st Ward 2000 East 3900 South, with Bishop Peter Evans officiating. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, and at the church on Wednesday for one hour prior to the services. Interment: Murray City Cemetery. Funeral Directors: The Holbrook Mortuary.
