GEORGE FREDERICK HAUSHALTER, JR.

1928 - 2004

George Frederick Haushalter left this earth on March 17, 2004.George was born to George Frederick and Hazel Violet Haushalter in Pensacola, Florida and lived his entire life here surrounded by loving family and friends. He was a retired educator who loved his students as a coach, teacher, principal and friend. "Big Red" as he was sometimes known, never met a stranger. He spread "Hugs and more hugs" to everyone he met.

Fred was a devout member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church and New Life Sunday School Class. He took great pleasure in creating hand made wooden gifts for church members friends and family.

The family would especially like to thank Drs. John Retzloff, Ziad Mamish and his many other doctors and nurses for their compassionate care.Fred is lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years, Jean'ne; his children, Michelle (Kenny) Nelson, of Loxley, AL; Sherrie Mitchell (Greg Saunders), of Pensacola; Fred (Kathy) Haushalter, of Matthews, NC; his sister, Hazel Harris (Jack), of Maryland; grandchildren, Corbett (Amy Kathryn) Davis, III; Ryan, Lauren and Lindsay Haushalter, of Matthews, NC; Cody Mitchell, of Pensacola and many friends and relatives. George was the heart of the family.

The family will receive friends at Cokesbury United Methodist Church on Friday, March 19, in the atrium at 1:00pm.

There will be a celebration of his life in the Sanctuary at 2:00pm. Burial will follow at Roberts Cemetery on Creighton Road.

Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers for Mr. Haushalter will be; Sam Jones, Kenny Nelson, Gregory Saunders, Corbett Davis, III, Ryan Haushalter, Thomas Sowell, Gene Turnipseed and Owen Sharp.

In lieu of flowers, the family wish memorial contributions be made to Cokesbury United Methodist Church or to Pensacola Opera Children's programs.
