He came to the no longer in existence township of Springfield (between Eugene and Cayuga) from New England in 1832. He was a boot and shoe maker and practiced his trade in Springfield. He was a Justice of the Peace for 15 years. Lived there until 1847 when he sold his property to Philo Case. The property consisted of Lots 47, 48, 56, 57, 58, 59, 61, 62, 63 and 64. He then moved to Illinois about a mile and a half west of Cayuga on the Georgetown road past Liberty Church. Section 35, later owned by Noble Neubert. He spent the rest of his life there and is buried in McKendree Cemetery along with many other members of his family.
Lived in New Hampshire living there until coming west.
Married Maria Taylor on 7 Sep 1825 in New Hampshire.
He and Maria became the parents of 4 daughters; Martha who married Lemuel Strum, Sarah E., Mary Ellen who married James A. Wear, Ferona E. who married Colonel William J. Moore; three sons, Dr. George T. Richardson, who married three times to Harriet S. Hall, Isabelle Henthorn and Moranda A Towne, John T. Richardson and Francis A. Richardson who married Mary Elizabeth Thorton.
Adoniram was born on 25 Jun 1805 in Boston, Massachusetts. He died on 5 Nov 1889 in Georgetown, Vermilion, Illinois. He is buried with many of his family in McKendree Cemetery. A large sphere marks his grave, one side bears his name and the opposite side bears the name of his wife, Maria.
