Age 89, passed away at Superior Woods following an extended illness. She was born in Ypsilanti, the daughter of Fred and Cora (Whittaker) Howlett. On June 14, 1941, she married Loyd Reed in Ypsilanti and he preceded her in death June 9, 2005.
Lucy spent her life caring for her family and volunteering in the community. She loved baking, canning and sewing.
Survivors include two children, Living of Ypsilanti and Living of Ypsilanti; foster daughter, Living of Farmington Hills; and one grandson, Living of Ypsilanti. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Lester, Harold and Charles and two sisters, Mary Howlett and Irene Estleman.
The funeral service was on February 9, 2006 at STARK FUNERAL SERVICE Moore Memorial Chapel. Burial followed in Highland Cemetery.
