Robert J. Marshall, 92, of Silver Ridge Park Westerly died Feb. 7, 2009 at Arbors Health Care Center Manchester, NJ. Born in New York City, NY he was raised in Jersey City, NJ and resided in Wood Ridge, NJ for 26 years before moving to Toms River in 1982. Mr. Marshall served in the United States Army during World War II. He worked as a Claims Manager and retired as Vice President of a New York Insurance Company. He also worked as a Consultant for the New York Department of Insurance for a number of years. He was a parishioner and communicant of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church Toms River, NJ. Mr. Marshall was Past Vice President and Trustee of the Home Owners Association; a former member of the Men's Club, Bocce Club, & Bowling Club all of Silver Ridge Park Westerly.
Robert is predeceased by his parents, Daniel & Caroline Marshall. Surviving is his wife of 67 years, Rose (nee Kiernan) Marshall. One son, Robert Jr. and his wife Majorie of Folsom, CA; One daughter, Carole Ann and her late husband William Connor of Peterborough, NH. Six grandchildren & two great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Wednesday Feb. 11, 2009 from 2:00-4:00pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd. Toms River, NJ 08757. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10:00am Thursday Feb. 12, 2009 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church Toms River, NJ.
