US Air Force Pilot. He graduated from West Point in 1944 and was trained as a B-17 and B29 pilot in the last year of World War II. He served primarily on Okinawa and in California in the late 1940s. At the start of the Korean War his unit was deployed to Okinawa. Davis was killed when the B-29 he was co-piloting developed engine failure. Steps taken to maintain flight caused the bombs on board to detonate and sever the control wires, and the plane crashed into the China Sea off the coast of Okinawa.
