DAVY — Herman L. Adams, 84, departed this life Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009 in Beckley VA Hospital following a long illness. Mr. Adams was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served his county in World War II, a member of Lions Club and a member of Silver Haired Legislature. He also enjoyed studying genealogy, hunting and fishing. He was an avid photographer and just enjoyed having fun with his family and friends.

Born April 27, 1924, in Accoville, he was the son of the late Buddy Clyde Adams (1902-1960) and Rosa Isaacs-Adams (1908-Deceased). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Faye E. Hodges-Adams-Adams (1934-2008).

Those left to cherish his memory are two daughters, Belinda Adams-Ekberg & husband Michael Ekberg, of Union, OH, and Donna Adams-Davidson & husband Richard Davidson of Kettering, OH; stepmother, Macie Adams of Oceana; a stepson, David Adams of Fanrock; three brothers, Jackie Adams & wife Evelyn Adams of Rock, Darrell Adams & wife Mary Adams of Oceana and Nolan C. Adams (1941-2014) & wife Adeline Morgan-Adams (B. 1945), of Simon; two granddaughters, Samantha Ekberg of Kettering, OH, and Dawn Jackson & husband Aaron Jackson of Milwaukee, WI; two step-grandsons, Richard Davidson Jr. of Kettering, OH, and Dustin Davidson & wife Dawn Rene Davidson of Dayton, OH; several nieces and nephews, and a host of family and friends.

A celebration of Mr. Adam's life will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009 at Adam Toler Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Knotts officiating. Mr. Adams will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny.
