Obituary
At his home at Coal the morning of the 26th of December, L.C. Mullis departed this life, after only a few hours of severe suffering of appoplexy.

He was born Feb. 9, 1845, at Fortsville, Ind., and was married to Miss Margaret E. Boughfman Dec. 26, 1866, of Cincinatti, Ohio. To this happy union was given three children - S.C. Mullis, Athealia and Mary G., who died in infancy. He moved to Missouri from Indiana in the year of 1879, locating in Leesville township, where he had resided ever since.

He leaves an invalid wife. She had been his constant care for the past 8 years. He had a great desire to be able to live to take care of her as long as she lived. He was no hand to complain or murmur about his cares or troubles. He said he prayed that the Lord would give him strength to take care of his dear, helpless wife.

He was a member of the Presbyterian church at Coal. The church has lost a good member and the neighborhood has lost a good neighbor. He was ever ready to do something for someone else.

His funeral was preached at Good Hope church Sunday at 2 p.m. by Rev. Dickey, of Clinton, to a large concourse of friends and acquaintances. he was buried in Good Hope cemetery beside his father and mother, who had preceded him several years ago.

He leaves one own sister and two half sisters to mourn his loss, besides a number of relatives and friends.
