Enlisted on 2/29/1864 as a Private.

On 2/29/1864 he mustered into "B" Co. 49th Ohio Infantry.
He was Mustered Out on 11/30/1865 at Victoria, TX.


Warsaw Man is Summoned
L. M. Berlin, Veteran Railroader, Died Late Monday.

L. M. Berlin, 89, retired railroad employee, died late yesterday at his residence, 427 South Union, Warsaw. He had been ill for about a week and death was partly due to infirmities of old age. Mr. Berlin had resided here for many years and was employed as a superintendent of railroad rights-of-way for nearly a half century. He retired from work about 20 years ago.

The deceased is survived by his widow and seven children: George, of Fort Wayne; Mrs. F. Roberts, of Fort Wayne; Melvin of Westerville, O.; Marion and Benjamin, of Warsaw, and Mrs. Wesley Light and Mrs. Ester Hay, of Warsaw.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Berlin home on South Union Street. Burial will be made in Oakwood Cemetery.
