Dies Suddenly Here
J. Harry Capell, 87 died suddenly Tuesday afternoon at his home on Tompkins St., in Inverness.
He was born in Columbia, S.C., and started his career as a railroad man at the age of 18 as a fireman on the old FC & P Railroad, now known as the Seaboard Air Line, running between Waldo and Wildwood.
He was promoted to engineer in 1902 while working for the Norfolk & Western Railroad. In 1906 he went to Florence, S.C. as an engineer on the Atlantic Coast Line, where he remained until his retirement in 1940.
He was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, F & AM of Florence, S.C. and was a member of the First Baptist Church, of Inverness.
Mr. and Mrs. Capell moved to Inverness when he retired and made this their permanent home. They celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on July 28 of this year.
His wife, Mrs. Jane W. Capell, is his only survivor.
Funeral services will be held this (Thursday) afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the chapel of Porter Funeral Home. The Rev. Thomas N. Channell, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Inverness, will officiate. Interment will be in Oakridge Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mr. Capell's six nephews, all brothers.

The 1880 Census shows that James H. was born in South Carolina and was living in Fairfield County, South Carolina with his parents T.E. and Hariette E. and brothers F. Walter and Frank W.
The 1910 Census shows that James H. was a railroad engineer and was living on S. McFarland Avenue, Florence, Florence County South Carolina with his wife Janie and his sister Annie.
The 1930 Census shows that J. Harry was born in Florida (?), was a steam railroad engineer and was still living in Florence with his wife (not named).
The Florida Death Index shows that James Harry Capell died in Citrus County, Florida.
