Burton E. Ware, 81, a resident of Fairview Manor, passed away on Saturday February 7, 2009 at the Millcreek Community Hospital. He was born in Oklahoma City, Okla. on December 9, 1927, the son of the late Burton H. and Mattie Ellis Ware. He attended School in Texas and later in Crawford County Pa. He had played in the Horseman School Band in Pampa, Texas and in the Colestock High School Band in Crawford County. He had worked as a farmer and then at Struthers Wells and Joy Mfg. Co. retiring in 1989. He was a Korean Conflict Veteran of the U.S. Army He moved to Erie in 2004. Survivors include his sister, Jane Seely and her husband Melvin of Erie, a Niece, Elaine Buckel and her husband John of McKean and a nephew, Daniel Seely and his wife Angela of Corry. He is also survived by several great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
