Ruth Arnold Cumbie, 74, of Dayton, died Friday, February 13, 2009, at the Kingwood Hospital in Kingwood.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 18, 2009, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Ruth was born September 10, 1934 in Austinville, VA, to parents; William Lawrence and Golde Ella Delp Arnold, a former resident of Richmond, VA, Crosby, and has resided in Dayton/Liberty area for the past 23 years. She was a homemaker, graduate of the Jackson Memorial High School, member of the First Assembly of God and Liberty County Grief Relief. Mrs. Cumbie also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking, gardening, decorating, and church activities.

Mrs. Cumbie was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Berkley Albion Cumbie, Jr., sister: Jean Delp Arnold Cabiness, and brothers: Billy and James J. Arnold, and an infant brother. She is survived by her daughter: Pamela Peska and husband Jimmy Ray of Dayton, son: Berkley Albion Cumbie, III and wife Abigail Gonsalez of Liberty, grandchildren: Sean Camron, Victoria Elizabeth, and Connor Ian Cumbie all of Liberty, sisters: Wanda Lee Abner of GA and Mary Agnes Mullins of VA, brother: Joseph Crockett Arnold of Houston, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
