Edward K. Lisle, 68, of Rogers, Ark., passed away Feb. 19, 2009, at the Circle of Life Hospice Home in Springdale. He was born Oct. 4, 1940, in St. Louis, Mo., to Edward and Edna Lisle-Wheat. He served in the U.S. Navy Reserves as a parachute rigger. He was the plant manager for American Fixtures in Joplin, Mo., for many years. He owned and operated the Coast to Coast Hardware in Baxter Springs, Kan., was a smoked meat processor for the Hillbilly Smokehouse in Rogers, and was an artisan blacksmith creating hand forged pieces and fabricating woodstoves at the War Eagle Forge in War Eagle. He also owned and operated The Galley Restaurant on Beaver Lake and worked for Wal-Mart Corporate. Edward was a member of the National Rifle Association, the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association and a staunch conservative patriot. He was of the Missouri Synod Lutheran faith. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Carol Jean (Houlihan) Lisle. He is survived by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kathy and Mike Cole, of St. Louis; nephew, Ethan Cole; niece, Meghan Cole; and friends. Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, at Forever Bellerive Cemetery in Creve Coeur, Mo. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, Ark. 72762. Arrangements by Rollins Funeral Home, of Rogers.
