L. Ruth Lipscomb, 87, died on April 19, 2002, at the home of her daughter in Cleveland, Ohio. Ruth lived 80 years in Tunnelton, until failing health forced her to relocate to Cleveland.

She was born Dec. 5, 1914, to the late William Sigley and Martha Phillips Sigley.

Ruth was a Methodist and a homemaker.

She is survived by a son, Roy Lipscomb, of Akron, Ohio; his children, Roy Lipscomb Jr., and Mark Lipscomb, both of Akron, Mary Kay Jordan, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, and Sheila Lipscomb, of Wadsworth, Ohio; and their mother, Kay.

She is also survived by her daughter, Shirley Sanders, and son-in-law, Allan Sanders, of Cleveland, Ohio, and their children, Teresa Posa, of North Royalton, Ohio, and Allan Sanders Jr., of Olmstead Falls, Ohio.

Ruth was a great-grandmother of 12.

She is also survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Margaret Sigley, of Massillon, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Norma Nicholson, of Tunnelton; a brother-in-law, Led Stemple, of Aurora; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her spouse, Junior G. Lipscomb; brothers, Clyde, Guy and Delbert Sigley; sisters Hazel Stemple and Mabel Norton. A brother, Otis, died in infancy.

Friends may call at the Browning Funeral Home in Kingwood from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, April 21, 2002.

Mrs. Lipscomb will be moved to the Shay's Chapel Church on Monday, April 22, 2002, to lie in state from noon-1 p.m., the funeral hour, with Rev. Rotha C. Hall officiating. Interment will be in the Shay's Chapel Cemetery
