Esther Henry Jacobs, widow of Gib Henry and Henry Jacobs, of Madisonville, passed away at 2:10 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 9, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church, where she loved to go. She loved to make quilts, gardening, her flowers and the special times with her family and friends. Christmas is the time of year, that as a mother and grandmother, she enjoyed making sure that all her family would have a special gift under the tree. This year, God sent her the most precious gift, a special angel to carry her home.
She was 91. Preceded in death by: parents, June and Lula Miller Long; and brother, Erskin Long.
Survivors include: daughters and sons-in-law-Mamie and Ralph Buckner of Delano; Louise Sloan of McKinleyville, Calif.; Marie Martin, Alene and Bo Ogleby, Geniva and J.B. Moses, all of Madisonville; and Joyce and James Isbill of Sweetwater; Sons and daughters-in-law-Ed and Leona Henry of Madisonville; Boyd Henry of Charleston; and Roy Henry of McKinleyville; Twenty-seven grandchildren; Forty-two great-grandchildren; Forty-one great-great-grandchildren; Fourteen great-great-great-grandchildren; Sisters-Ruby Jones of Madisonville; and Gladys Best of Tellico Plains; Brother-Hurbert (Bunt) Long of Tellico Plains; Several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were 8 p.m., Monday, in Biereley-Hale Chapel, with Rev. Kevin Miller and Rev. Gale Miller officiating. Interment will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, at Kitchens Cemetery. Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville, in charge of arrangements.
