Ane Catherine Andersen, a long-time resident of Nuckolls County, died Tuesday, December 12, 1978, at the Brodstone Memorial Nuckolls County Hospital at the age of 91 years, 3 months and 17 days.
One of four children, she was born to Anders and Marie Nelsen Iversen August 25, 1887, at Hjoring, Denmark, and at the age of 15 she came to the United States.
March 5, 1907, she was united in marriage at Nelson to Marinus Andersen. To this union three children were born. They are: Alfred Andersen, Mrs. Harold McKevitt (Marie) and Kenneth Andersen, all of Superior.
She was baptized February 3, 1888, to the Lutheran faith, in Hjoring, Denmark. At the time of her death, Mrs. Andersen had been a member of Centennial Lutheran Church for the last 38 years. She enjoyed her church and church work. She was a charter member of the Centennial Ladies Lutheran Aid and also the Rural Social Club which was organized in 1923 and is still in existance.
Mrs. Andersen lived on a farm, in the Superior vicinity with her husband and family until 1945 when they moved to Superior to make their home and where she lived the remainder of her life except for the last year and eight months which she lived at the Good Samaritan Center in Superior.
Mr. and Mrs. Andersen lived many happy years together and had the joy of celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on March 3, 1957.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, two brothers and one sister.
Besides her daughter and two sons, she is survived by four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were held Friday, December 15, at 2 p.m., from the Centennial Lutheran Church in Superior. Pastor Paul Theiss officiated and burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. The Megrue-Price Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Eilert Bargen, Verle McKevitt, Harry Sorenson, Elmer Schriever, Ed Hudson and Gordon McKee.
