Lloyd H. Kendall, 94, of Shreve, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010, at Horn Nursing Home.

Private family graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Oak Grove Cemetery, with Pastor Dave Truit officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the graveside services at Schlabach Funeral Home in Shreve.

The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Greater Wayne County, 2525 Back Orrville Road, Wooster 44691.

He was born Feb. 29, 1916, in Holmes County to Ira and Alma (Hoffman) Kendall and married Dorothy L. Maurer on May 19, 1945. She preceded him in death April 19, 2010.

Lloyd retired from the Wayne County Highway Department in 1977.

Dorothy and Lloyd enjoyed traveling and camping, especially the Smokey Mountains. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and his dog, Tippie, who was his faithful companion.

Surviving are a daughter, Sally (Barry) Musselman of Wooster, and a son, Dave (Cindy) Kendall of Shreve; grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew (Lisa) Musselman, Mike (Michelle), Jeff (Bonna) Kendall and Jennifer Garman; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

In addition to his wife, Lloyd was preceded by a great-granddaughter, Jessica Kendall.
