WALTHAM Mrs. Mary Anne (McCusker) Barry, of Waltham, died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009, at her home. She was 86. Mary Anne was born in Newton June 25, 1922, the oldest child of the late Hugh and Agnes (Mayhew) McCusker. She was a graduate of Newton High School, and moved to Waltham in 1944. She worked for many years at the bookstore and administrative offices at Brandeis University in Waltham. Before that, Mary Anne worked for the Raytheon Company in Waltham. Mary Anne kept busy throughout her life working and caring for her husband and five children, who remember with affection her artistic flair and cooking and baking abilities. The wife of the late William J. Barry, she leaves her children, William J. Barry Jr. of Rowley, Linda Anne Cloonan and her husband, Jack, of West Caldwell, N.J., Michael D. Barry of Acton, and Kathleen B. Masterson and her husband, Michael, of Lexington; her grandchildren, Kelly, Patrick and Katherine Barry, Jacey Cloonan, and Emma Masterson; her sisters and brother, Margaret Weagle, Helen LaHaise and Joan Walsh, all of Waltham, and Peter McCusker of Marlborough; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Robert F. Barry and sister of the late Kathleen Keating-Burrie and Richard McCusker. Family and friends will honor and remember Mary Annes life by gathering for calling hours at the Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main St. (Rte. 20), Waltham, Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and again at 10 a.m.,Wednesday, Feb. 18, before leaving in procession to Saint Marys Church, 133 School St., Waltham where her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
