Services for Virgie Lee Wood, 88, of Lubbock will be at 4 p.m. today in Sanders Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Bob Bohannon, pastor of Quaker Avenue Church of God, officiating.
Burial will be in the City of Lubbock Cemetery.
She died Sunday, Jan. 11, 1998, in St. Mary Hospital.
She was born April 7, 1909. She moved to Lubbock in 1942 from Baytown. She married Walter Burl Wood on Sept. 5, 1928, in Caddo. He died April 7, 1984. She attended Faith Assembly of God.
She was a homemaker. A daughter, Gladys Duncan, died Dec. 24, 1989.
Survivors include two sons, Harvey Burl and G.L., both of Lubbock; two daughters, Margaret Wood Castle and Tommie Wood Keese, both of Lubbock; 23 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
