ATLANTA, Texas - Charlie Crawford "Red" Hardamon, 74, of Nash, Texas, died Friday, June 18, 1999, at Christus St. Michael Hospital, Texarkana Tx of coronary artery disease. Mr. Hardamon was born July 11, 1924, in Flora, Natchitoches, Louisiana, the son of Melvin Clementine Russell and Cobby Reginald Hardamon.

He was owner and operator of C&D Sales and Services, Conroe, Texas, and member of Good Hope Baptist Church, Cypress, Louisiana, F&AM Lodge 286, Beaumont, Texas, and Scottish Rite, Galveston, Texas. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Ramsey Yelvington Ellis.

SURVIVORS include his wife of 53 years, Dorothy Jean Smith Hardamon of Nash; three daughters, Charlotte Parker of Arlington, Texas, Karen Jean Hardamon and Judith Ann Ellis of Houston, Texas; son Garland R "Sonny" Hardamon of Washington state; three grandchildren, Sheila Denise Neumann Payne, Mason Hardamon Ellis, and Cassidy Ann Ellis; two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Marie Rodriguez and Thomas Payne; one niece, Margaret Ann "Maggie" Flenniken Breedlove of Bossier City, Louisiana.; and a number of other relatives.

GRAVESIDE services will be 2 p.m. today in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Nash, Bowie, Texas, with the Rev. A.V. Smith officiating. Burial will be under direction of Hanner Funeral Service, Atlanta, Texas.

24 Jan 1946, divorce decree, Garland Longlois, while Garland was pregnant with their son Garland R "Sonny" Hardamon born in September 1946. My dad's mom (my grandmother) was not in favor of his actions against his wife Garland. And I never knew I had a brother until I was about 13 years old. I just overheard a conversation about Sonny and asked mother who is Sonny? We were never allowed to see each other. 🥹
