Leon A. Achorn, 84, Waldoboro and Belmont, Mass., died at a Concord, Mass. nursing home Saturday after a long illness. He was born at Waldoboro on July 7, 1892, the son of Clenham J. and Sadie Achorn Stet, corp of Cambridge, Mass. He was a member of Washington Lodge, AF & AM, at Lexington, Mass., Royal Arch, Chapter, MeMolay Commandry; Aleppo Temple of Boston, a life deacon and chairman of the executive board at Tremont Street, Temple in Boston, and a member of Germania Lodge, IOOF, at Waldoboro. His wife, Grethel Ludwig Achorn died Jan. 29, 1970. Survivors include a nephew, Donald Achorn of Belmont, Mass., a niece, Eleanor A. Kennedy of Augusta; and several cousins. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Hall Funeral Home, Waldoboro, with Dr. Norman Lavers of the Tremont Temple officiating. Burial at Achorn Cemetery, Waldoboro.
