ACHORN - of Belmont, Jan. 29. Grethel (Ludwig), wife of Leon A. Achorn, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Cecil E. Ludwig, niece of Mrs. Henry Meyers of Waldoboro, Me., aunt of Donald H. Achorn of Arlington, and Mrs. Eleanor Kennedy of Waldoboro, also survived by several cousins. Services at the Short, Williamson & Diamond Funeral Home, 52 Trapelo Rd., Belmont, Saturday, Jan. 31, at 11 a.m. Calling hours Friday 7-9 p.m. Services at the Hall Funeral Home, 77 Main st., Waldoboro, Me., Sunday at 2 p.m.

Mrs. Grethel L. Achorn, 71, of Waldoboro and Bremont, Mass., died January 29 in a Boston hospital after a long illness. She was born April 26, 1898 in Waldoboro the daughter of Cecil E. and Lilla B. Achorn Ludwig. Mrs. Achorn was an active member of Tremont Temple in Boston. surviving are her husband, Leon A. Achorn, an aunt, Mrs. Henry Meyer of Waldoboro, a nephew, Donald H. Achorn of Arlington, Mass., a niece, Mrs. Eleanor Kennedy of Waldoboro, and seven cousins, Mrs. Mildred Damon, Mrs. Celia Teague and Thurlow and Leon Ludwig all of Waldoboro. Vernon Meyer of Beverly, Mass., Floyd Meter of Detroit, Mich. and Carroll Ludwig of Damariscotta. Funeral services were held Saturday at the Hall Funeral Home, 77 Main St. Waldoboro, with the Rev. Norman Laver, formerly of Tremont Temple officiating. Burial was in Orff's Corner cemetery, Waldoboro.
