Ina Jane Carpenter was born in Oklahoma, in 1893, and departed this life at her home southwest of Holton on Friday, October 11, 1918, aged 25 years, 2 months and 26 days. At the age of seventeen she united with the M. E. church of Olsburg, she transferred her membership to the M. E. church at Soldier the following spring, and shortly after, coming to Holton, united with the Reformed church ... On October 1, 1914, she was united in marriage to Hobart B. Carpenter. To this union were born two girls, Rachel, age three, and Lucille F., age one year .... Nine years ago her father, John Thompson preceded her to the better world .... She leaves to mourn her loss a broken hearted husband, two children, a mother, five sisters, two brothers in France, one grandmother .... laid to rest in the Holton cemetery ....

She has been with the family of her brother, Hobert, whose wife died last week; the funeral was held Sunday at the residence about six miles southeast of Circleville. Mrs. Carpenter leaves her husband and two little daughters, the elder one but three years of age ....
