An account of Mrs Samuel Steele's obituary. The funeral of Mrs S.D. Steele, held saturday afternoon at 2 oclock(April 16th, 1927, day before Easter) at the Presbyterian Church, in charge of the Pastor, Rev. Wimberly, was very largely attended. Quite a few came in lumber wagons, the county roads being almost impassible. In that way it seemed like old times of forty years ago.

The Reverend Wimberly preached one of his most comforting sermons. The choir sang their very best and the wealth of lovely flowers on the casket made the funeral a most impressive one. Burial was in Lake View Cemetery.

She moved with her father to South Dakota when a girl in her teens. She and Sam had 8 children. Five sons and 3 daughters. Inez being a babe of only 4 months when her mother died. A little over a week before her death, she was taken with a case of intestinal influenza, and being in a weakened condition, having gone through a siege of scarlet fever among her children, she was unable to stand the strain, and death came about 10:15 Wednesday evening, April 13th.

She died at the age of 39 years and 17 days.
