Roy E. Combs, 81
ZANESVILLE - Roy E. Combs, 81, of Zanesville, died Aug. 5, 2007, at Carebridge Assisted Living in Jacksonville, N.C.
Roy was born June 6, 1926, in Roseville, the son of the late Frank Combs and Hazel Potts-Combs. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy and retired from Hupp-Wilbert Vault Company after a long career. He was a Master Mason of the Lodge of Amity 5 F&AM for 50 years and a Prophet in the Amrou Grotto where he was Prophet of the Year in 2002. He was a member of The National Grange for more than 50 years and was also a lifetime member of the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his daughters, Kay (Steve) Ferris of Cincinnati, Kathy (George) Schumacher of Jacksonville, N.C., and Kristy Combs of Pataskala; grandchildren, Cyle, Clay and Jamie; and a great-grandchild, Savahanna.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 29 years, A. Pauline Combs; brother, Richard Combs; sister, Francis Rodocker-Combs; and a granddaughter, Shannon Gray.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007, at Pleasant Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Lee Ann Dunlap officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, 400 Pleasant Grove Road, Zanesville, Ohio 43701.
