Laura was united in marriage October 29, 1949 in Sugar Grove, WI to Eldon Adams. In 1965 Laura and Eldon moved to Batavia and opened the Coast-to-Coast Hardware store. In 1974 with much hard work and desire Laura and Eldon opened their second store in Geneva.
Laura had several hobbies; her true love was to travel. Together with her companion Ernie Olson she went on many RV trips. She was a member of the Rail Car Association where she had taken many trips. Her other hobbies included bicycling, gardening, square dancing, and spending precious time with family and friends. She will be remembered and missed by all who have come to know her.
She is survived by three children Judy (John) Carr of Batavia, James L. Adams of Batavia, Kathryn J. (Charles) Mangene of Midlothian, TX; two sisters Rena Johnson of LaCrosse, WI, Clarice (Marvin) Edgar of Viola, WI; four grandchildren, Sarah and Nicole Mangene, Tegan and Kyle Carr; and a special friend Ernie Olson of Waterman, IL.
She is preceded in death by her husband Eldon Adams, her parents, and a brother Brian Drake.
Visitation will be held 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM, Sunday, May 26, 2002 at Yurs-Peterson-Moss Funeral Home 209 South Batavia Ave Batavia, IL.
Memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday May 28, 2002 at Sime Funeral Home in Readstown, WI. A memorial visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until the time of service.
