Born in Franklin Idaho, in 1868, Mrs Van Noy was with the first group of settlers to enter the Star Valley 53 years ago. She is survived by 14 children, 57 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
The children include Mrs Ingram of Laramie, Edna Hanni, Devon Van Noy, John Van Noy and Avon Van Noy all of Thayne, Bertha Child and Grant Van Noy of Odgen Utah; Vernie Van Noy and Nellie Richardson of Fairview; Ora Yeaman, Burley, Idaho; Vear Van Noy, Ontario Ore.; Clarence Van Noy, Los Angeles and Martha McKim of Mineral Wells Texas.

Mrs Martha Vail Van Noy, of Thayne, Wyo., passed away May 4th at Ivinson Hospital in Laramie, Wyo. after a weeks illness.
Mrs Van Noy, one of Star Valley's oldest resident, was born at Franklin, Idaho Nov 24th 1870 to Tyhian Buler and Isaac Hawk Vail, and was married to Thomas Lorenzo Van Noy January 12th 1886 in the Temple at Logan, Utah. They lived two years in Franklin, then moved to Star Valley in 1888, and she has been a resident of this valley since that date. She would have been 72 years old on Nov 24th.
She was visiting her daughter, Mrs Floyd Ingram at Laramie at the time of her death.
She is survived by 14 children, 47 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
Her children are:
Loarn Van Noy, Alpine; John, Avon, DeVon and Mrs William Hanni of Thayne; Mrs Clarence Hoopes and Mrs Eb Richardson of Fairview; Mrs Floyd Ingram of Laramie Wyo.; Grant Van Noy and Mrs Bertha Child of Ogden, Utah; Vear Van Noy of Ontario, Oregon; Clarence Van Noy of Lomita, Calif. and Mrs Howard McKim of Camp Walters, Texas. All her children were in attendance at the funeral.
Mrs Van Noy was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Van Noy and one daughter, Lettie Van Noy.
She is also survived by one sister, Mrs Elvira Livingston of Alpine and one brother, Wallace Vail of Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Bishop Joseph Merritt was in charge of the funeral service, which was held at Thayne church, and interment was in the Thayne Cemetery.
