Kenneth died on April 28, 1967, at approximately 0745 hours at the Station Hospital in DaNang, Republic of Vietnam as a result of a gunshot wound to the right thigh with massive hemorrhage. The wound was received at approximately 0345 hours on the 28th in the vicinity of DaNang from hostile fire while in a night defensive position. No other Marines were wounded or killed in that event.
