Altha L. Modesitt, 69 years old, veteran clayworker died Friday afternoon at his home at 316 North Elm Street. Besides the widow Pearl he is survived by two sons and six daughters; William A., city; Harry, Jackson Twp; Mrs. Violet Langdon, Harmony; Mrs. Audrey Porter, north east of Harmony; Mrs. Opal Selby, city; Mrs. Hazel Loughmiller, north of Carbon; Mrs. Carlee Evans and Mrs. Betty Fay Barnett, Indianapolis; two sisters and one brother: Mrs. Eva Lewis of Poplar Bluff Mo; Mrs. Anna Courtney, city and Oscar Modesitt, Harmony; and eighteen grandchildren. The body was taken to Miller & Sons funeral home where friends may call anytime after 2 oclock Sunday afternoon and where funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Mondy afternon. Rev. Joe Miller will oifficiate with burial in Calcutta Cemetery.
