Elmer K. Aagaard
After battling a lengthy illness, Elmer K. Aagaard succumbed and returned to his Heavenly Father on Jan. 6, 1998.
He was born in Bellingham, Washington on Oct. 7. 1914. He was married to his sweetheart, Fay, on June 14, 1938, later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Preceded in death by his father and mother, Kasper and Julia Aagaard and brother, Arnold.
Survived by his wife, Faye; his children, Randal K. (Debbie) Aagaard and Julie (John) Ryan, Grandchildren, Thad, Robbie, Emily Aagaard; Kari, Karsten, Gavin, and Kiley Ryan; Robert, Danny (Jen), Nick and Bart, Norris and a great-grandchild, Braden.
He was a true follower of the savior. Elmer was always faithful in all his callings being the ultimate example to all who knew him and was full of charity. Elmer lived a very full and varied life. After graduating from high school in 1932 he left home to travel and work in many fields, including sales, sports concessions, insurance, stocks, mining, oil, automotive and manufacturing. He was a veteran of World War II, being assigned to guard German prisoners of war.
There will be a viewing at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 East 1300 South, Friday, Jan. 9th from 6-8 p.m. The funeral will be held in the Yale 2nd Ward Chapel, 1431 East Gilmer Drive on Sat. Jan 10th at 12 noon with a viewing one hour prior. Interment, Larkin Sunset Lawn Cemetery.
