Philanthropist. A daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Horace Bushnell, she was a patron of the music and arts who funded the construction of the Bushnell Memorial Hall as a tribute to her father. She was a member of the Hartford Parks Board from 1911 to 1920 and was the honorary president of the Bushnell Memorial Hall Corporation at the time of her death. She was the widow of Appleton R. Hillyer, banker and benefactor of the Hillyer Institute.
