Carrie Dau
HOOPER - Services for Carrie Dau, 86, of Hooper, will be 2 p.m.Thursday at Redeemer Lutheran Church here. The Rev. Alex Wacker will officiate. Mrs. Dau died Monday morning at a Fremont nursing home. She was born Sept. 23, 1891, in Hooper and was a lifetime resident of the community. Mrs. Dau was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Lutheran Church Women and Willing Workers both of the Hooper Church. She also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. The former Carrie Heller, she married Edward Dau Sept. 22, 1910, at Hooper. He died April 4, 1963. survivors include sons, Kermit of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Gerald of Hooper, James of Midland, Tex. and Robert of Welcome, Minn.; daughters, Mrs. Ray (Mary) Fauss of Libby, Mont. and Mrs. Leonard (Helen) Zahourek of Ames; 20 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Mrs. Luella Hauser and Miss Elsie Heller, both of Omaha. Visitation will be Wednesday at Warne Funeral home in Hooper from 1-9 pm and Thursday at the church from 12:30 pm until time of service. Burial will be in Hooper Cemetery.
