James F. Abbett, 75, of Greeley, CO died Saturday December 22, 1979 at Weld County General Hospital.

He was born October 27, 1904 at Platteville, CO to George and Emma (Leis) Abbett. On June 1, 1927 he married Mabel Harper in Greeley.

Mr. Abbett grew up and later farmed at Platteville until 1953 when he moved to Weldona, CO to farm and ranch. He resided there until 1957 when he moved to Greeley and established a dairy.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church at Platteville and the Farm Bureau.

Survivors are his wife, Mabel; daughters, Mrs. Eugene (Helen) Nelson of Greeley, Mrs. Harold (Dorothy) Dill of Parker, Mrs. Richard (Elberta) Ottesen of Hereford, TX and Mrs. James (Emma Lou) Sarchet of Hooker, OK. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Herman (Alice) Duncan of Alameda, CA; three brothers, Leonard of Platteville, George and Allan both of San Fransisco, CA.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, December 24, 1979 at Adamson Memorial Chapel followed by interment at Mizpah Cemetery in Platteville.
