"Dorothy F. Marshall, age 88, of Portage, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2002. She was born April 17, 1913, in Marshall, Michigan, the daughter of Charles and Leota Marshall. She was a Portage resident for two years, formerly residing in Merrillville and Morris, Illinois. A 1931 graduate of Morris High School, she owned Marshall Parking in Gary and worked in housekeeping for the La Quinta Motel in Merrillville for many years. She was married to Lee Roy Matteson and he preceded her in death. She was married to Victor Eddy and he preceded her in death in 1981.


She was a member of the American Legion 0367 Auxiliary, the Good Timers Club, the Harvest House and AARP 3245.


She is survived by her son, Ralph (Kay) Matteson of Portage; two granddaughters; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and stepchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands and her son, Chris Eddy.


Interment will be held Monday, February 18, 2002, at Peru City Cemetery, Peru, Illinois." The Times (Munster, Indiana), February 16, 2002
