He was the son of John Gid and Bessie Woody Bingham. He was a retired farmer and a member of Scotts Hill Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by one step-grandson, B. J. Pratt.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Norma Bingham of Reagan; two sons, Jimmy Bingham of Jackson and Dennis (Ellen) Bingham of Reagan; two step-daughters, Amy (Nick) Hart of Lexington and Angie (Timmy) Pratt of Reagan; one brother, Bob Bingham of Reagan; three sisters, Helen Creasy of Sardis, Flossie Houston of Decaturville and Marie Fields of Saltillo; six grandchildren, Jon (Allison) Bingham, Corey Bingham (fiancee'-Whitney Davis), Ben (Scottie) Bingham, Julie Bingham, Billy Pratt and Brooke (Jason) Sullivan and seven great-grandchildren, Erin, Eli, James, Phillip, Jaxon, Bracyn, Finley and Jackson.
