PATTON, James Arthur - We indeed regret to report the death of Arthur Patton, one of our highly respected young men, who passed away Friday, July 29, 1921 at the age of 36 years, 3 months and 11 days. James Arthur Patton was born in North Carolina in 1884 and came with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George W. Patton, to this community when small, the family residing since on their farm near Mount Pleasant until last year when the parents moved to Gravette and Arthur and family, after returning from the west, occupied the farm until he was stricken with tuberculosis which caused his death. In November 1905 Arthur was married to Miss Maude Holt, daughter of J.H. Holt, and sxi children were born to them: Eunice, Lillie, Charles, George, Bessie and Bee. Besides his family and parents he leaves 4 sisters, Mrs. James Maxwell of Idaho; Mrs. Lee Calhoun of Texas; Mrs. I.L. Barlow and Mrs. Hattie Galyean of Mount Pleasant. One sister, Mrs. Adams, died some years ago. The funeral was conducted at the Mt. Pleasant in the presence of a large crowd of neighbors and friends.
