He was born February 3, 1926 in Augusta, GA, the son of the late William B. and Ada Adams.
At an early age he moved with his family to Charlotte, NC. He graduated from Derita High School in 1942. At the age of 17 he joined the US Navy Air Corps and was a Veteran of World War II. He was a member of Derita American Legion, he was a lover of dogs, he enjoyed training them and showing them for a number of years. He retired from Southern Bell after 30 years of service.
He is survived by one sister Nancy Adams Lindley and two nephews, Bob and Chuck Lindley and their families.
Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Dorothy Culp Adams.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 3, 2009 in McEwen Funeral Service Derita Chapel 6300 Mallard Creek Road. The Celebration of his life will begin at 2:00 in McEwen's Chapel with Pastor Doug Agnew officiating. Interment will follow the service at Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
