Mary R. Burtle, 92, of Glenarm died Thursday at Regency Nursing Care Residence, Springfield.
She was born May 1, 1903, in Springfield, the daughter of Charles and Monica O'Connor Ryan. She married Harry J. Burtle in 1923; he died in 1972. Mrs. Burtle, a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy, served as organist at St. Bernard's Church, Glenarm, and Sacred Heart Church, Divernon, for more than 60 years.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Divernon, and was a charter member of the Glenarm Community Club and past president of the Illinois Federation of Women's Clubs.
Survivors: a son, Robert J. Burtle of Glenarm; three daughters, Mrs. Peter J. (Mary Elizabeth) Hartung and Mrs. Fred S. (Eleanor) Frank, both of Springfield, and H. Eileen Burtle of Des Moines, Iowa; 15 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Mass: Sacred Heart Church, Divernon, with Monsignor A.B. Schwarz officiating. Burial: St. Bernard's Cemetery, Glenarm.
