George's parents were Wilbur F. Buckland, 1842-1939 and Elinor Stoughton Buckland, 1854-1915. George and his wife Cornelia had 4 daughters and 2 sons. George was a poultry farmer on his own small farm in Granby, CT and also was a farm laborer for other local farms picking tobacco, apples, potatoes, etc.
