Funeral Rights in Colorado Springs

Robert Russell Burns, 49, of 1931 Brentwood Dr., was born on April 5, 1913 at Colorado Springs, Colo. He was the business manager of Continental Developers, Inc., here in Casper.

He was a graduate of Colorado College in Colorado Springs. He married Virginia Thornton of Colorado Springs on Sept. 21, 1940 att he Springs.

He was a retail credit manager for Perkins - Shearer Clothing Store at Colorado Springs before coming to Casper in June of 1960 to take a job at Continental.

He was a first class petty officer in the U.S. Navy during 1944 to 1946. He was a member of Our Savior's Episcopal Church and the Sertoma Club at Colorado Springs.

Surviving are his wife, Virginia; three children, Kathryn, Jeanie, Stephen; and an aunt, Mrs. Russell Schettle of New York City.

Services are tentatively scheduled Friday at the Chapel of Our Savior's Episcopal Church in Colorado Springs with internment in the family plot at Evergreen Cemetery in Colorado Springs.

Services for Robert R. Burns of Casper, Wyo., Will be at 12:30 p. m. today at the Chapel of Our Saviour, Broadmoor, the Rev. William Shannon officiating. Internment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Warren Prior, Irving Roberts, M. Lawrence Davis, Fredrick T. Henry, Cortland Cool and Robert Edwards.

Law Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Burns died at Casper on Tuesday.

He was a former resident here and worked for Perkins-Shearer. He attended Cheyenne Mountain High School and Colorado College.

Mr. Burns was a member of the Episcopal Church and the Sertoma Club here. He served in World War II.

Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Virginia Burns, two daughters, Kathryn and Jeanie Burns, and a son, Stephen Burns, all of Casper, and an aunt, Mrs. Russell Shettle of New York City.
